Bank of Scotland is proud to continue its support of the Bank of Scotland Herald Angels, rewarding creative and ground-breaking work staged across the Edinburgh Festivals.
Bank of Scotland has supported the Edinburgh International Festival since its inception in 1947. Today, the partnership includes support of The Enlightenments a series of new commissions exhibiting in galleries across the city, Connecting to Culture, an education programme which creates opportunities for young people and the wider public to engage directly with the Festival and participate in the arts and The Bank of Scotland Fireworks Concert, the grand finale to the Festival, performed by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
This year Bank of Scotland has donated over 2,000 tickets for the Bank of Scotland Fireworks Concert to local community groups and charities in the Edinburgh and Lothians area. Through this donation of tickets, Bank of Scotland is giving more people the opportunity to experience the event from this exclusive vantage point, whilst rewarding them for their continuing commitment to the community. Bank of Scotland has also donated over 600 tickets to the British Heart Foundation, providing a unique opportunity for the charity to raise their profile whilst generating funds totalling £16,000. These funds will help support the work of specialist Heart Nurses in the UK.
In 2009 around 30,000 young people have had the chance to be involved with a Bank of Scotland supported arts project inlcuding Bank of Scotland Connecting to Culture and the Bank of Scotland Imaginate Festival.
